Terrific Day!

Warm, plenty of sunshine, pleasant breezes-- a fine day for the time of year.

Above I revisit the Lubbock Lights. So much had changed! 19th Street was probably a two-lane road in the early fifties and houses were torn down when it was widened.

About twenty years ago I was out in Southwest Lubbock around sundown and discovered hazy blobs in the digital photos. I tried to enhance them and got this stuff.

Great Weather

It is at least not bad for this time of year. A few years back we'd had an ice storm by this time. That was abnormal. Starship continues to be a joke, lowering the bar for what qualifies as "success". I can't figure out the fan base for this project. It might be better to rename Starship. Maybe Starsh*t would be an option. It didn't blow up immediately. That's success? Will it be one success after another?

This is an old Hondo guitar I used to have. I wish I still had it. Did I sell it on eBay?? I can't remember what I did with it. It weighed a lot. Maybe I donated it to Goodwill. I don't even recall where I found it!

A Norther

But not much of a change. Only a little cooler. That's not bad.

It looks like a nice weekend we'll be having.

Foggy, Cloudy, Again

Bloody hell, what does it take to get some sunshine around here? I got the new Covid vaccine yesterday with no side effects whatsoever and later this month I'll get Shingles number two. I believe in the efficacy and general safety of vaccines and have nothing but contempt for the anti-vaccine crowd. They should get sick already. Piss on them. As usual, there's a whole lotta shit-for-brains going on. Fuck 'em all and let their peculiar deities sort 'em out. HAHAHA! By the way, I now no longer see any of those shitwit "Trump Won" signs around town. I keep hoping all those Big Macs the orange turd gobbles will clog his arteries enough to put him down, the sooner the better. Oh well, one must be content to see what tomorrow brings. Steady as she goes around here. Taking care of business, as usual. Minding the store, so to speak. Doing what must be done and staying on top of things. My right shoulder gets better and better and I feel really good about that.

Mild November

So far no extreme cold or snow or ice storms. Not much rain. Way too much in the way of cloud cover. It'll be a gloomy month, it seems, but not very cold. I've had to get more realistic about my weights after straining my right shoulder on the chest press machine. If I'd been doing a bench press I'd be dead, or severely damaged. Fighting old age and losing, but at least I'm losing the battle slowly and I was already way ahead of the game. The re-conditioning program I'm on right now might actually pay dividends in the long run, with many more reps than I normally do. If I'm cautious I might actually find that my one rep max has improved from what it was before my shoulder gave out. Patience is called for, and persistence.

I miss my wife very much but I'm sure I made the right decision when I opted to spend the rest of my life as a recluse. No inferior substitutes for me, and no changes of scene or routine. I will not risk putting bad memories over good ones.
