Lubbock Obscurities

We investigated a part of town almost entirely hidden, just off the Tahoka Highway. There were some interesting sights.

It seems to be mostly industrial...

... but then you find a few residences.

Junk cars are very popular.

Everybody has at least one junk car.

People get very attached to the car grandpaw used to drive, or the car uncle Bufort was so proud of, back in the day. It must be nostalgia.

Random Views Of Lubbock, And A Surprise!

This is just stuff we ran across while driving around, in town and in the county.

Straight and level. Just the way we like it.

Out in the boonies...

But this, above, is the wind power museum. And now the surprise: MENARD!!

It was cold and damp when we stopped at this motel in Menard, Texas. Our next stop would have been Junction, but it was too late and we were too tired to continue that day.

It was a great little motel, clean and quiet and cozy. We were well-rested the next morning, and that's when I walked around outside and took these pictures.

Menard is only lively during deer hunting season.

This was NOT deer hunting season.
