A Continuing Saga...

... of exceptionally mild weather for this season, and I like that very much. The seasonal norms are not bad at all, and we continue to stick with that regime. Let the really nasty stuff stay to the north, and to the east, and stay away from this area. One can hope. It could be so much worse, and that always bothers me, the fact that circumstances could always be so much worse. I had an appliance conk out recently. That was a drag. A replacement is on the way, however. But I can do without that sort of hassle. For a long time I've felt very vulnerable, as though on a knife edge. I can never shake that feeling. It's very uncomfortable.

But we are back to Lubbock Vistas for a while, and will stay there for a bit.

So Christmas Is OVER!

I want things back to normal ASAP! My gym is still closed the day after? What the hell is the excuse for that?? Perpetual damn holiday?? It's OVER, damn it. And we still have damned New Year's to get through. How I hate this season. How I loathe this season.

It's impossible to get a damned thing done. Enough already.

Good Rain Yesterday!

Just what we needed. No hail, no high winds, no snow, no ice, and no nonsense, but just a good rain. And now the rain is over and it is sunny and it will not be especially cold, either. This December is far better than most, and I guess we can thank El Nino for it. The cotton farmers might actually have adequate soil moisture for a change.

And I don't buy anyone presents, but instead give to charity, which should warm hearts. Nor do I buy anything for myself, unless it is a necessity. No frills. Lean and mean. Way to go. Keep it simple.

Getting Cloudy

But NOT getting especially cold, and rain chances pick up. No white Christmas. I like it. No snow. Forget snow. Maybe a few light snow showers around New Year's Eve. I hate that dumb holiday. I'm always happy when it's all over. Slush out New Year's. Kill the celebrations.

Terrific Weather Continues

Terrific indeed, but not in the sense of inducing terror, but rather amazement at the pleasant conditions continuing day after day. So fine. Rain chances eventually, and still no snow in prospect.

Crowds are increasing here and there and the seasonal music is as annoying as it always is. It might be fun for children but as an adult I've heard that stuff far too many times, and it is very irritating.

Terrific Weekend

Especially when you consider the time of year, a much better weekend weather pattern would be hard to imagine. Nothing really much in the nature of an ARCTIC BLAST! BOMB CYCLONE! POLAR VORTEX! seems to be immanent. Not even a POLAR POTATO! That's nice.

Of course, there is still plenty of time this winter for an ICEAGE APOCALYPSE! Or a SNOWNADO! Or, a FLESHFREEZING FRENZY!! The media would salivate all over that sort of thing. I hope they will be disappointed this winter. I would hope that nature would not feed the news ghouls. The news ghouls have enough to rejoice over.

Nice Weekend

We could have pretty decent weather right into the end of December, unless something unexpected happens. The rain was fairly decent. We only got about half-an-inch but other areas around here got a lot more. And there are more rain chances next week, with temps above freezing, so no snow or ice. I hope that turns out to be the case.

I've got some kind of thick green grass growing in the backyard that has completely displaced the Bermuda that used to grow there. This stuff survives cold and thrives with very little moisture. Where it came from I do not know. But I like it. I might try putting a plug of that stuff in other places, in the front yard. Let it take over.
