More RAIN!

 Not very long after sunset, thunder and lightning and yet more rain but it was a brief shower and I did not see any evidence of heavy rain this morning. And it was another great morning to do some work outside. Meanwhile--

A local preacher has been charged with sexual indecency with a child. Judging by the photo it's a white guy. Of course. I'm not going to speculate about his guilt or innocence. The presumption of innocence must be respected. But this incident triggers some thoughts regarding white evangelical males in general. Several other cases make me suspect that these white MAGA Christians really do have a thing for the kids. They love children but not in appropriate ways. It's the kind of behavior I associate with white trash, and they certainly ARE white trash, and an affinity for child sexual abuse would explain their admiration for a scumbag like King Don. I suspect that every conservative white Christian male is a rapist and pedophile at heart. And I'm sure they have no shame about this, because they've got the hot sticky blood of Jesus slathered all over their bodies. And maybe that turns them on as well. They're washed in the blood of the lamb! That gives them a license to sin without guilt or shame. If they're called out, if they're caught, then they just turn around and blather that everybody is powerless over sin, and imply that everybody is really just like them: lowlife white trash scumbags who love to sin! I really don't accept that, and I find such "reasoning" offensive in the extreme. At any rate all this is nothing but speculation on my part. But I will continue to avoid evangelical Christians and treat them like plague carriers. And sick shit in general. I don't have an open mind about this. 

And I'm somewhat ashamed of my attitudes toward certain people. I hope to improve. I hope to become more tolerant and more understanding. And that's a hell of a lot more than the typical evangelical would do.
