I believe it hit 104 F yesterday. I thought that today it would be not quite so hot, but we started off close to 80.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

Another Nice Morning
And it seems that COVID is still out there, with a fast spreading variant that has many concerned. It continues to evolve. Evolution is real, for those too ignorant to know. I continue to hope for a variant that targets the human reproductive system, in men AND women, leaving sterility in its wake. One can hope!

"Cool" Morning
It's 71 F and cloudy right now with an isolated thunderstorm north of us. It would be nice to get a cool outflow when it collapses. Don't think the rain will reach us. It's going to be a relatively hot week but records probably won't be broken. Mornings remain fairly "cool" with temps in the low seventies. August is typically quite hot here. It's already been extremely hot. When will relief come? It's sweltering south of us.

One Day Heat Relief
That's what we've got today-- a reprieve from the relentless heat but it will last only one day. Enjoy it while I can. I did last evening, out on the patio. It feels great this morning. Eventually this heat wave will pass, and then we get to deal with bomb cyclones and sub-zero F wind chills. I hope we have some kind of transition between the two extremes.
Dream on.

Cloudy, Windy
Getting a break in the heat at last. I was thinking yesterday of foods I don't see anymore, like parsnips. Mass consumption means even the foodstuffs get dumbed down and reduced to the most common and profitable items. I remember when I could buy spiced apple rings in a can, BBQ in a can, potato salad in a jar. Most people, I find, are quite childish and have childish tastes. Horrible to think of children using iphones and wasting time with social media. If they grow up thinking that a facebook "friend" is real, they are lost. I rarely see anyone reading a book anymore. Eyes fixed, glassy and vacant, on their stinking "smart" phones. I really think that humanity is ready for extinction. One of life's many failed experiments. It's very sad. I don't think that thinking animals work very well. A thinking animal is kind of grotesque, when you think about it. HAHAHAH.
When people DON'T think they do stupid shit, and when people DO think they do stupid shit. Hydrogen bombs and ballistic missiles and AR-15's are all stupid shit. Monkeyshines and monkey shit.
