Pattern Shifting

Heat dome/high pressure moving west, our high temps begin to decline, and mornings getting cooler.  A slow process, however. 

It would be a mistake for me to imagine that we are done with triple digits. 

I Looked At The Forecast Today

 Oh boy. It said a weather shift was coming, or a pattern change, but not a paradigm shift unfortunately. What the world needs now is a good old fashioned paradigm shift, if you ask me. Today it will be a hot one, but mornings are nice and cool. I have done so much work lately there is little left to do at the moment. I can wait for the pattern shift. I continue to find more efficient and cost effective ways to perform my usual tasks-- more INTELLIGENT ways to accomplish various tasks, and that is always so gratifying.

My private jungle is at the point now of needing occasional trimming, simply to enable me to move about within it. I'm thinking about novel strategies for this winter. I'm not so sure that I want to remove the dead growth and contemplate using baling wire to assemble "structures" with some eye appeal. I durst not call them "art"-- no, no! I dasn't! I durst not! That would be somewhat akin to casting aspersions upon the many, many, victims of the American Dream! It's a dream for the tope 2% and bullshit for everybody else, if not an outright nightmare. But one might well cast aspersions AT the American Dream, that devourer of minds, bodies, lives, and even souls. But that's up to you. I know where I stand.

Is This True??

 If it is, that would probably explain why he's a god among white trash, especially evangelical white trash, where I think child sexual abuse is probably a popular cult activity.  Nothing would surprise me about the sorts of things evangelicals get up to, within their smarmy cult. 

So I'm going to hope that this is just a smear. Then again, as I say, I would not be at all surprised...

And sexually abusing children strikes me as a very "evangelical" thing to do. Don't they brag about being sinners, and don't they constantly admit that they are "powerless over sin"? So whenever they are caught red handed they fess up and rejoice that they're SAVED, despite the evil shit they do. 

Quite Cloudy

A norther is on the way and it will greatly moderate the heat we have experienced over the past week. It is a preview of what is to come, with greater and greater frequency as August fades into September. I like seasonal change. I rather enjoy the seasonal temperature roller coaster. 

I have actually begun to stock the foods I want to rely on this winter. I'm looking for easy storage and long shelf life, and solid nutrition, and easy preparation. Nothing complicated. There will be fish in this diet but not much else in the way of "meat". Unless I decide to buy beef jerky. I might do that. Grains! Cereals! Nuts! Dried fruit! Powdered whole milk! High protein pasta! I have plenty of rice and lentils, plenty of spices and seasonings, plenty of olive oil and canola oil and sesame oil. Plenty of flour and corn meal. Plenty of Asian chili paste! Canned tomatoes and tomato sauce! Canned mushrooms! And so on. Oh, yes, canned red beans, for these make a wonderful vegetarian chili. And so on. I want a well-stocked survivalist pantry. Oh yes, dehydrated potatoes! And so on. Pretend it is WWIII, wheee, for it might well beeee!
