More Of New Braunfels And Lubbock Drying Out

It is very rare and very unusual to see a green Lubbock. We'll enjoy it while we can, I guess.

More Of New Braunfels And A Soggy Lubbock

This is precisely the sort of weather I would like for July 4th-- even wetter, in fact. Meanwhile, on with New Braunfels.

Reflections.

I might like to go back to black & white basics when I complete this New Braunfels segment.

Still New Braunfels

Rainy in New Braunfels, but now rainy in Lubbock as well. Great weather. It never rains enough around here. When it rains a lot Lubbock almost looks halfway decent. And the rain keeps the dust down. My sinuses are not tormenting me since we've had this rainy spell.

I found this fascinating piece of railroad maintenance equipment. I didn't do much driving in New Braunfels because of tourist traffic. I am so happy that Lubbock is not a tourist town. Traffic in Lubbock is never very bad, but I time my errands to avoid certain times of day to reduce my traffic experience even more. Never, ever, do I use the Loop. Some people seem to want to get places as rapidly as possible, and maybe they don't have much free time. ALL of my time is free, and there is NEVER any reason for me to be in a hurry. Ahhhhh! I could probably do all sorts of traveling, but-- I HATE travel. I don't need or want novelty in any form. New sights? New experiences? New "horizons"? No thanks.

More Views, Downtown New Braunfels

 Dodging the raindrops.

I had to visit the railroad tracks again, to see what might be new. This thing was new. And of course, all the puddles of water, due to the constant rain while I was there.

Still In Downtown New Braunfels

Heavy rain here last evening. But it still isn't enough. Not even remotely enough. Maybe we can got more heavy rain in the next few days. Meanwhile Lubbock prepares to become part of ERCOT. As you might expect, the process begins with outages.

New Braunfels. They were part of ERCOT, and they had a hell of a time last winter. Lubbock was NOT part of ERCOT and we did just fine. What does that tell you?
