Ruins First, Then Garden

We visited these ruins a few years ago, when they were somewhat less "ruined".

It's a bit more like proper ruins now. No roof! Ah, the sky above.
And the garden is still doing well, despite more than normal hail.

Sunflowers turned out to be easy to grow.
More ruins now...

And now more garden...

More next time.

Time For That Garden Stuff Again

Despite a series of hail storms the sunflowers have done well. Of course, they got the snot kicked out of them last night, due to yet another hail storm. Good thing I got some shots before that happened. I"ll be mixing these pics with others I took last Sunday morning, of some ruins on Broadway near Martin Luther King Boulevard. Lots of atmospheric instability here. Lots of storms lately.

Looking good before the hail battered them.

I don't think hail could make these ruins much worse. More next time.

6th & Q Still In View

It's one of Lubbock's mighty intersections, "where things come together". What things? These things:

It comes together here. All of this.

And these things.

Coming together.

6th & Q, we're through with you.

6th & Q

It's a place to view.

It's a place of wonders, both natural and unnatural.

There are signs of civilization, and its discontents.

It gets more and more interesting as you look around. More next time.
