This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

An Eyesore In Central Lubbock
On the other hand, even though it is sort of an eyesore in this neighborhood, I like stuff like this and it is actually in better shape than some of the houses! You can see this on Avenue L. It used to be storage for "Rainbo Bread", and then LISD used it, and now it just seems to be abandoned. While I was photographing it, with my wife safely in my car and ready to flee if necessary, a woman in the neighborhood shouted at me and told me she was going to call the police! "I'm going to call the police," she said. Why, I wondered. At any rate, I got my pics.
For all I know, there really is a law against photographing things like this!

No Pics Yet
It's been raining constantly and various other considerations have prevented us from getting out and getting photos until recently. I have a batch that needs to be re-sized to fit this blog, however, taken with a $2 HP Photosmart I found at an estate sale. This little camera even contained a 1 gig SD card. I tried it out this past weekend and found that it takes good pics. I retired two older point-and-shoot cameras. Now I have: the Nikon D200 for the best work, a very good Canon point-and-shoot (eBay, about $35), a pretty decent little Sony (eBay, about $20), and the little HP. And we always have my wife's iphone. With these cameras, I think I am ready for anything. They all have advantages and disadvantages and some work better than others under certain conditions, but I feel they make a good photographic tool kit. I hope to have new pics here soon.
