Concluding July 4th 2017-- From The Garden

I will continue my photography hobby, but now I must do it without the companionship, love, and support, of my wife. She fought a good fight for several years, but her various health issues finally claimed her, on November 25th of 2017. I miss her. Nothing will be the same. But I know she loved life, and loved me, and would want me to continue the activities we enjoyed. We worked out in the gym together, we lived our lives as a team; we were described by our friends as "joined at the hip". That's the way we liked it. I'll continue my exercise program, continue to do the things we enjoyed together, continue to enjoy my various hobbies, and keep updating this blog, with new photos. There's kind of a huge backlog, so I'd better get on with it.

Most, if not all, of these photos were taken with the NIKON D200.

I was just being lazy and playing with the camera.

I really like the lens I got for it! It's pretty versatile.

The sunflowers attracted birds we never saw before. I'll have several varieties of sunflower next summer, as well as more plants calculated to attract birds and insects.

Strangely enough, we saw a pigeon land on one of our sunflowers and attempt to eat the seeds in the same way that these much smaller and lighter birds did it. Didn't work that well.

The old birdhouse was in bad shape, so as soon as it was unoccupied, I removed it and built a new one.

The next update will be something completely different...
