YESTERDAY

 I had a sensation of change in the air. It was windy and the air was fresh with a hint of coolness. It turned quite hot later. This morning it is very windy and masses of clouds move in, from the south. There is s weather change coming. I had occasion to extend a morning drive into an area to my east where the "boonies" are, and I think it would have been grand to have made the drive in some sort of drophead coupe or roadster. Lotus Elan? That would have been great fun!

I have been photographing the heck out of my growing garden/jungle. I need to get those photos out of my camera and into my computer, for the usual adjustments and enhancements, and do it soon! So much to do!

Corn!

 There are open fields not far from me, normally planted with cotton but this time there's corn, a lot of it. Excellent conditions for that crop, with high soil moisture and more rain likely later this week, and a drastic drop in our high temperatures. My own crop of sunflowers is doing very well, recovering from the recent barrage of small hail. I look out my window here, and see a sea of green, a jungle. So gratifying! And I made no effort to plant anything. The sunflowers come back, year after year with no effort on my part. The effort comes much later when I have to deal with the dead stalks, but there won't be that many this time, since I've kept things under better control. 

Getting Warmer

 Warmer weather is what one expects now, but still not extreme.

Early to bed and early to rise. That works for me. 

Surprise!

 Instead of finding the morning warm, muggy, and still, it turned out to be cloudy and cool and breezy! I did not expect that at all. 

Hot But...

The heat is not really out of norms, and certainly bearable. I do what I need to do early in the day. It helps to be an early riser, and it helps to ignore DST. My 7 is your 8, and so on. I just don't alter my sleep patterns. I'm out of bed and ready to rumble by 5:30. MY time. True to form, I got the essentials done while the morning was fresh and cool. 

I have certainly been enjoying my guitars lately. People complain about the Duncan designed pickups on  Jagmasters, but the secret to a good tone is to set them as far below the strings as possible and then to screw out the threaded pole pieces a few millimeters. This adjustment makes a world of difference. I find the action on my Jagmaster to be the best of all my guitars. Of course, I used a hard wood tremelo block, held in place with Titebond. Trem systems aren't worth the tuning hassle, in my book. And the springs actually make a nasty contribution to the sound. They must go.
