More Downtown New Braunfels

It's becoming as soggy here as it was in New Braunfels! Heavy rain this evening would be greatly appreciated.

Downtown New Braunfels

Headed off in that direction, anyway, and getting lightly rained on.

More New Braunfels Houses

The good old houses, in the good old neighborhoods.

There are only so many of these to go around. Any money you put into them is well spent. The porches are amazing. High ceilings. Hand crafted wood everywhere. Lots of lead paint. Whoops. Best to paint over it. Don't try to remove the old paint.

Still More New Braunfels

It's an interesting place with an interesting history. It tries to preserve its history.

You are very fortunate if you are able to live in the core of historic New Braunfels. The housing can be amazingly pricey, however, and there will be restrictions on modifications you can make to existing housing. The very best places to live in New Braunfels are in the oldest neighborhoods.

New Braunfels Is...

... hardcore, sick, twisted, delusional, trumpworld cult territory. For the most part. Like Lubbock. But there are at least some people there who are smart and sane, just as there are some people in Lubbock who are smart and sane. Not enough though. Not nearly enough. Smart, sane, human beings have always been a rare commodity. Even a cursory glance at human history will confirm that. It's been a freaking lunatic parade. I wish we had the complete writings of Democritus. Many other things should have gone into the trash bin. Plato, for instance. Platonism has been a malignant influence. But let's get back to New Braunfels-- structures in New Braunfels. Houses, and things like that.

Some houses in New Braunfels have a rather steep drop off in back. The backyard, if you can call it that, slopes down sharply. Great fun if you're a kid with a soapbox racer. A pain if you're an adult trying to push a lawnmower up that hill. It's easiest, if you live on a hill like that, to just let things go wild.
