Dry, Hot, Windy, Dusty, Lubbock

We used to say the wind is always blowing hard in Lubbock because Lubbock sucks. We used to say that happiness was Lubbock in your rearview mirror. Not much has changed. 97 for a high yesterday,  winds up to 40 mph, dust in the air and 6% humidity.

This area has been in a drought for years. I had to drive all the way to New Braunfels to discover what real rain is like. As I drove back to Lubbock I found fewer and fewer signs of recent rain. When I finally reached Lubbock-- dry. Dust in the air. Lubbock still sucks.

The New Looks Much Like The Old

But isn't that always the case?

Besides, I'm not keen on change. Is anybody anticipating the "blockbuster" UAP or UFO report due to be released in early June? I think I can summarize what it is most likely to say: swamp gas.

More New ones

I'm pleased to be out and about again and taking pics. Half the fun is working on them in photoshop.

The finches never went away because I fed them all winter. I seem to be sustaining a small colony. I've got them pretty well protected from the feral cats hanging around here.

Still More New

A bit negative last time, eh? Tell you what, if I had any children I would URGE them not to have children. Don't do it. Don't keep that crazy cycle going. Meanwhile, fertility in the USA is down 4%. That's encouraging. It ought to be down 40%. Moving in the right direction though.

We're still in Lubbock, but it won't be long and we'll be in New Braunfels.

And More New

Torrents of rain and tornado warnings in New Braunfels while I was there. I thought I might be stranded by flooding. In some areas near San Antonio, hail stones the size of Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit!

Various things tend to reinforce my view, that human existence is a non-stop clusterfuck shit storm. Being born is the greatest misfortune imaginable.
