This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

Even Less Garden
Soon those pics will be used up. But I scoped out some stuff downtown this morning.
I'm getting tired of this stuff anyway. And now I'm thinking that I might just undo the entire garden and let the lawn reclaim it. Because it's a lot of work. I made that garden in the first place for my wife to enjoy. She's not here anymore to enjoy it and most of this summer it's been too hot for me to enjoy it, not to mention the mosquitoes. Or, I could undo the expansion she never got to see in full bloom. I almost had it completed the week before she died. I finished it, but now I wish I'd just let it be, let the grass regrow, which would have happened quickly. That might be the best move. I'll have to think about it.

Not Finished With Garden
I've located a few candidate sites for the kinds of things I like to photograph but I don't know when I'll get to them. I'm kind of waiting for that first detectable norther. Too hot for far too long. June and July are rotten months as far as I'm concerned. August is usually hot but it isn't unusual to have some relief from the relentless heat in mid to late August.
Special effects used here.
And I might just scrap the sunflowers next year-- plant something else. I keep thinking it might be interesting to plant corn. The stuff grows taller than the sunflowers and I'd actually have something I could eat. If I expanded the garden, watermelons might work well in that new section. I don't think I'd run afoul of the city's zoning regulations. It might be an interesting experiment.
