Continuing Recent Lubbock

Some severe storms last night, appropriate for the date, here in Lubbock, but no tornado. Just lots of much needed rain. And, as I expected, Putin's Russia is in second spot on the infection tally, trailing the USA but on track to catch up and perhaps exceed our cases.

Soon we will be in another interesting alley, where I took many photos.

Ah! We have arrived!

It was a place of many rich and varied sights!

More Views Of Lubbock

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the F5 tornado that devastated Lubbock-- I was there. I remember it well, what sort of day it was and what I was doing. I was living in the track of the tornado, and survived that night, amazingly, with minimal damage. Other were not so fortunate.

I should also note that COVID-19 cases in Russia are increasing at a very high rate, and that they will soon be number two in the world, behind the US. That does not surprise me at all. I expect Russia's infections to match our own and perhaps even overtake the US. Same kind of leadership. Same kind of personality cult. Same kind of results.

Cults of personality are always deadly.

Recent Lubbock

I found another abandoned building and took photos there.

Apart from the photos, I just like the feeling I get around places like this.

Always interesting to examine the debris as well. More of this still to come. From this location and from others.

More Recent Views Of Lubbock

This stuff I have never examined before.

It looks run down enough.

And, it was isolated enough and deserted enough.

Returning To Recent Views Of Lubbock

Not a minute too soon.

The blog interface tells me where the visitors here are located. I still get lots of visits from Russia, of all places, a country where the COVID-19 infection curve is still spiking up exponentially. I wonder whether I should worry about getting thrown out of a window-- just kidding. Ha. Ha.

I am happy to have views of Lubbock to share again!
