The rain was very nice. We are still out of the heat.
It is nice to be out of the heat!
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!
Cool, windy from the north, and very cloudy. We've already had some light rain and the chances for showers today are good-- 70%. It will indeed be a wet weekend. In past times, sometimes, most of the time, Labor Day would be a day to swelter. Not this time.
Tomorrow, in fact, a fairly strong norther for the season will drop our temps substantially and give us a rather wet Labor Day weekend. I like that very much. That will be a good thing.
It looks like the Labor Day weekend will be cool and wet. I can dig it. It will be a very nice change. I spend more time outside, slathered with OFF, of course, for the mosquitoes are quite bad. I've gone to a VPN and I've enabled two factor authentication on all of my important accounts, including email/internet service. Too many bad actors out there. They should all be ripped to shreds by demons!
I had occasion to be out rather early this morning, in traffic, and for the first time in many years I had to cope with the "morning rush". Ugh. Our temperatures continue to moderate. Coffee on the patio was a bit rushed but it would have been pleasant otherwise. Things get a bit hectic around here sometimes, but that's a consequence of a decision I made some years ago. It was a humane and caring decision and I don't regret it. Now I've taken care of business and I can relax for a while. For the rest of the day, if I want. Odds are, I'll pick up some weights later. I can't stress enough the need to exercise. There is nothing better for one's health, than regular exercise. It's the best habit one can have. I've been at it for close to forty years, now, and it's made a huge difference in my life. Bicycling, jogging, walking, weight training-- all of these. If you want to be healthy, you MUST exercise.
We are out of the triple digits and our temperatures continue to moderate. It was pleasant on the patio this morning. It is still not as cool as I would like but we are getting there, and there is change in the air.
The heat wave goes away. The last of August looks good and the early part of September looks even better.
Now the temps moderate, finally, after that heat wave. It is very cloudy today. If these clouds persist, we might not be hot at all today. Relief at last!
105 F yesterday and the same again today, but very low humidity. The heat index is not that severe, and I could enjoy coffee on the patio this morning, despite the 80 F morning "low". Another record high today, but after that, maybe a slow return to somewhat milder temps and cooler mornings. Eventually, this must happen. But August has been really bad. We got lucky in the early part of the summer, with rain and mostly seasonal highs, but we are not so lucky this month.
