We made another one of our trips into obscure byways.
The weeds had grown so tall in this area, I could not get the views I wanted, so I settled for what was visible.
North GUAVA was visible, as well as a lot of junk.
We drove slowly, on an unpaved narrow road.
Nice junkyard.
There were a few interesting old cars, all rusting away.
We then looped back into the old airport industrial zone and examined the Water Treatment Plant. I worked there years ago.
Security is much higher now than it was then.
It looked deserted, but it wasn't. Just nobody out and about.
The various structures here all have their purposes.
For our next stop, we checked out some of the structures near the airport.
This area is not thriving.
This boat is a long way from enough water to float it.
We checked out the sights, such as they are, on North Ash Avenue.
Plenty of ruins and more than enough junk to go around!
Lubbock is a flag-waving city.
Patriots abound.
And there it is, another little slice of Lubbock most people never see, or pay any attention to if they do happen to be in the area. What a shame.
