Reese AFB

The old helicopter pad is an RC flying field.

One RC aircraft flew while we were there, and it flew in silence, with electric propulsion. Electric propulsion and 2.4 gigahertz radio equipment has made flying RC much less of a hassle. All of my own airplanes are powered by electric motors using lithium polymer batteries. And all of my radio equipment is 2.4 spread spectrum. And all of my planes are registered with the FAA to conform to the new rules.

Reese AFB, which was a pilot training center, is now the Reese Technology Center. Lubbock survived the base closing. Not much has changed at Reese. Anyone stationed out there would still recognize the place.

The golf course is still there.

Infrastructure is still there, to some extent.
