Lots Of Problems!

Yesterday's winds did a lot of damage in the area. Blew over semis! Caused accidents, power outages and fires when power lines went down. That sort of thing is not at all unusual in this part of Texas at this time of year. I got through it OK. No damage, just inconvenience. Actually, I've experienced conditions far worse than that.

I need to do a little cleanup because of windblown debris.

Big Wind! Big Dust!

Dust? More like DIRT. One of those days on the high plains of Texas. But it might not be quite as windy as forecast. That would be something, but the sky is turning orange. I watered yesterday, since I realized that it would be impossible today.

Wind On The Way

Nice and warm now but it might get very windy tomorrow. High winds are normal at this time of year, in this area.  Very dry. Blowing dust. Springtime is on the way, with all the choking dust and howling wind and severe weather that comes with it. Fun fun fun on the high plains of Texas, but there are very few places on the planet that are truly comfortable to inhabit. And there are NO places in the universe where life is not precarious, hanging by a thread, subject to swift and total destruction by any number of cosmic accidents. That's reality. The fine tuning argument is a crock of shit.

Lots of people dislike science because science uncovers an objective reality that smashes idols and exposes falsehood. Most people would rather cling to their superstitions than learn how the world really works.

Denialism Marches On

Science denialism will march humanity right off a cliff, but if you are insane and or stupid you can't see it. Stupid is a very, very, dangerous disease. I wish we had a vaccine for stupid.  Measles is certainly marching on, claiming more innocent victims every day. Polio can't be far behind. Oh well. Failed species are not at all uncommon. It's nature's way. It's nature's way of taking out the trash.
