Cool This Morning!

So nice! My windows are open, and will be for a few hours yet, as I try to empty yesterdays' heat, which really wasn't so bad, but I like the fresh air. Always good to have the windows open.

Nice Enough Morning

Very pleasant this morning! Some rain chances remain. It won't be especially hot today. A breeze helps. I finished GALACTIC POT-HEALER. What a read. I'm back to the Sue Grafton. Getting close to the end on those.

My little struggle with depression continues. I refuse to become a Prozac zombie. I tried "medication" many years ago. It was horrible. It was worse than the depression. Apart from that, I detest shrinks. For some reason, that profession seems to attract people with the sorts of personality disorders that would have placed them in positions of authority in death camps, and they would have been very happy in such an environment. They would have thrived.

It Rained!

It rained in the afternoon and it rained overnight, and it was enough to nourish all the green things that the late Bob Ross was so concerned about, all the "little doers" in nature. Ah, Bob Ross! Ah the Little Doers!

For over twenty years every day, for me, has been a vacation. I abandoned the "world of work" very early and I have not missed it, ever. That's what you can do, if you save and save, and live the simple life, and avoid the common traps. I've been married twice, the first one was a business deal, to some extent, but more than satisfactory and it ended well in a rational manner. I wouldn't have entered into that arrangement if I had not loved the woman and her family. Marriage number two was late in life and it was my true marriage-- and even though my wife has passed away, that true marriage goes on, on another plane of being. She is still my life partner and there will be no other.

It Is Cloudy

Clouds, what do they mean? Will it rain? Or will it be a tease? I've taken a break from Sue Grafton and I am reading, for my fiction, Philip K. Dick's "Galactic Pot Healer". You wouldn't think that a book with a title like that would make you think, but it does. I suspect that those of us who care about life, about living things, are exhibiting a trait that puts us completely at odds with a "life force" if such a thing exists. By showing compassion and concern, we demonstrate that we don't belong here. I think it's a good thing, to not belong here. The book is also full of wry humor and pratfalls.

I rarely watch TV anymore. At one time I went five years with no TV. I didn't miss it. Then it slipped back into my life but it was almost entirely PBS, until I discovered some network stuff above par, that somehow survived the moronization process. I actually had basic cable at one time but most of that was rock bottom crap, and cable got more and more expensive. It wasn't worth it. Books are the best.

Turning Dry And Hot

In other words, we are getting into a more normal weather pattern for the time of year. OK. That's not too bad.

SOSO.
