Dry And Hot

Dry and hot is going to be our pattern going into July, but northeast of us severe storms and a tornado that hit Perryton hard, with fatalities and lots of damage. I was in Perryton many years ago, rescuing a friend of mine who got stranded in the oil fields after he wrecked his car up there. That was a fiasco. I'd just purchased a used candy apple red Fender Jaguar, and I had that guitar on my mind. That poor guy had one screw up after another, and is dead now. Probably a victim of the same kind of heart disease that killed his father.

That guitar didn't last long but now I've got another one. And even though it will be very hot today the air is dry so the temperature right now is 62 F and there's a nice breeze. It feels great outside this morning. I would rather have this type of weather than the severe storms striking the panhandle not so very far from us.

Warming Up

Getting warmer but not uncomfortable. Not what I would call "hot" yet. Getting there. I did do some watering yesterday.

I renewed my drone registration this morning. I only have two devices that are over .55 pounds. I have many that are under that weight limit. Remote ID is not yet an issue. I might stop flying those devices because I think remote ID is a boondoggle and won't be worth the effort for me. I get plenty of enjoyment from the exempt devices.

Cloudy And Cool AGAIN This Morning!

The forecast is for heat and high winds. They missed that boat yesterday. I finished everything outside I had pending. Now it will be a matter of routine. If it does get as hot as forecast, I will be happy for wind. The ground here is still quite wet. Some strange changes in the neighborhood, and strange events. Nothing at all threatening, but just odd. We seem to have a north breeze this morning. Last evening it was from the northeast. This time of year southwesterly winds would be more seasonal. We actually had a light misty rain yesterday morning, and it was cool. It is still only 66 F, as I write this. The clouds do seem to be thinning. I find it amusing to follow the UAP/UFO stuff. Seems like the aliens, if they really are out there, are complete idiots. Since most humans are idiots, we certainly don't need an influx of idiots from outer space.

It would be very disappointing to encounter ET at last, only to discover that ET has shit for brains.

Typical June?

Normal June weather has been postponed another day. It stayed on the cool and cloudy and breezy side yesterday but that permitted me to do much more work outside. It rained overnight and today begins-- cool, cloudy, breezy, damp, and foggy. Hmm.

I'd rather have this than a heat wave.

Cool, Cloudy, Breezy

Conditions this morning allow me to open windows and get heat out of the house before it gets hot later. Clouds and cool breezes are a treat. Still no need to water. I will do one section of the garden later this week.

It takes daily effort to stay on top of things. I am very happy to have "travel" off my radar. And even if I didn't have so much to do here, even if I had the time and opportunity, I wouldn't do it. I am where I want to be and as I want to be. I'd be a fool to "travel". Packing? Living out of a suitcase? Being where I do NOT want to be? Returning to a neglected household? UNpacking? Trying to catch up, repair damage? No effing way. Been there, done that, and that part of my life is OVER. And I am so happy to have it over.
