A Few Words of Warning

Not ALL of these "closer looks" will involve the past. This morning, for instance, I found some new things. NEW. Ugh. How I detest the new. But the things I photographed are OLD, so, maybe, then, offsetting penalties, and no loss?? On the way home I encountered a horrifying single vehicle accident involving a Jeep. Many patrol cars! An entire intersection blocked off! I had to detour! Sunday morning, very light traffic, excellent visibility in all directions, everything well-controlled by traffic signals, dry pavement, and somehow, someone driving that Jeep managed to crash it, badly. VERY badly. Two people, occupants of that Jeep, with serious injuries. Go figure.

Closer Looks 17

Well, I got some beer yesterday but Shiner Bock in cans I did not find, so I bought another brand and it was OK. But not great. Lots of time outside yesterday evening. This week I'll have a bit more work to do and I can knock off for the year. Enough has been done. I water a lot, since it no longer rains.

Closer Looks 16

Gee, this weekend might be Shiner Bock weather already! Unfortunately it'll be windy and that means the dust will be up. Beer will help with that, ha ha. I think I'll be outside a lot this weekend, dust or no dust.

Maintaining my own personal status quo is all I want to do. It's surprising sometimes, how much effort that takes. Fighting entropy every step of the way and cursing time's arrow.

Closer Looks 15

I'm just about finished with all the major projects around here, although I could do more, but that can be deferred to next year, if there is a next year for me. I certainly won't take anything for granted. I believe I will try growing some tomatoes this year. The cages are in place, so why not?

One day at a time. Sufficient unto the day, and all that good stuff. It won't be long and it will be Shiner Bock weather.

Closer Looks 14

No relief from the drought, none in sight. Mild weather here, but so very, very, dry.

Not to worry! The most numerous and dominant lifeforms on the planet (bacteria) continue to rule and prosper.
