Well, it is another blast of winter today. It had to happen. How I hate winter. But today will be the worst of it and back above freezing tomorrow.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

Sunflowers 66
Sunny this morning and well above freezing, with light winds. I hope the wintery forecast turns out to be a bust.
As of this date, I've had no Covid symptoms at all, at any point, and had only a mild and brief cold over a year ago. Fully vaccinated with Moderna and I've had the Moderna booster. Also got a flu shot early on. Still wearing a mask when I'm among other people, when I don't have any way of knowing who is vaccinated and who is not, avoiding crowds (easy to do since I hate crowds anyway) and so on. Social distancing etc. So far so good, in other words.

Sunflowers 65
Of course, the PU isn't always a rotten place to be. Consider the sunflowers! Last evening I enjoyed the sight and sound of large flocks of Canadian geese. Very nice! I never ignore the beauty to be found in nature. But it's a dangerous place, too, and you have to remember that you are always walking a tightrope. I know some people like to challenge themselves by scaling sheer cliff faces with nothing but their hands and feet to keep them from falling. Sometimes you win a small victory. But the PU always gets you in the end. Always.

Sunflowers 64
We are going to have a few very nice days in terms of weather followed by a couple of rather cold ones. That's life in the PU. It doesn't always suck but in the long run everything always gets worse-- if you happen to have a brain. Otherwise it's nada nada nada.
I had a slight glitch with the Googoyle as I tried to upload these. All good now. Nada nada nada.

Sunflowers 63
There were no dust problems yesterday. Just a bit windy and the wind chills were uncomfortable. Today it is nice and calm. It will be sunny again. Of course, that means no rain. And that is not good. The vagaries of weather and disease are just functions of the PU, or Physical Universe. It takes elegant maths to describe it, but it is completely brainless and devoid of heart, soul, compassion, or any other quality we associate with sentience. The PU is as dead "inside" as a corpse. It's a kind of machine, blindly blundering on, casually extinguishing life as it goes, because, really, the PU isn't a good place for sentient beings. Amazing that there ARE any sentient beings. The PU generates them in a casual and senseless way, and snuffs them out in the same casual and senseless way. Life in the PU sucks, is what I'm trying to say...
