More Interesting Sights In Lubbock, Texas

This one goes back to the seventies, I think. I took some pics here with my wife years ago but decided to revisit.

Deterioration is taking place. I took a closer look this time.

Not a going concern anymore. I have no idea who owned this business or operated it. Needless to say, times have changed.

I have no idea who is depicted here. The artwork remains, but does she? I have no idea. At one time a local "personality"? I suppose. Forty or fifty years ago. Amazing this is still here. More from this site next time.

Finishing Buddy Holly Performing Arts Center

At least for now. No doubt, I'll be back there when they've gotten more structure completed.

What I'm really curious about is the immensely tall twisty light sculpture. I'd like to see how that part goes together.

This will be quite a building in any case.

That's that for this location. Next time I'll move on to something else interesting and semi-historical.

I'm Looking At Lubbock Again

Like, what else is there to look at? I'm at the Buddy Holly Performing Arts Center, still under construction but progress is being made. It is coming together.

See?

When I took these pics I had my car in the Civic Center parking lot across the street. I think I spotted one of the architects out there, in his BMW, with a mass of poster sized paper all rolled up. We'll be at this location for the next few updates.

Looking At Lubbock Again

And again-- just some random stuff, and then revisiting the Buddy Holly Center For The Performing Arts And Sciences. Phew! Performing Sciences I am not so sure about-- Bill Nye?

Interesting junk, as usual.

And now, the other place with the long name.

There will be a lot more from this location. It is closer to completion.

Finishing 66th Street

I didn't go as far east as I could have and maybe someday I will, starting at Southeast Drive. That's as far as you can go on 66th in that direction. Unfortunately, that part of the road is unpaved.

66th is paved from MLK west.

That's it. I'll have to get some more pics!
