This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

Another Area Of Lubbock
Moved a bit. Still in the vicinity of the earlier pics, though.
This is the overpass where I stopped to get the overview of the railroad yard. There have been a lot of wrecks at this location.
And this area is full of warehouses and light industry.
But you still find plenty of scenic wonders!
Nature, polluted by the human presence. Ah.
A fire consumed one of the warehouses on this corner. Debris still not cleared away. I photographed this last year, shortly after the blaze, in fact. More to come.

More Random Views of Lubbock
Maybe not actually random. Sort of clustering in one area, here.
Out of business for sure. At one time you could get some deals here. Probably no more deals. The roof is even gone.
I took pics of this place last year or the year before, before it became so derelict.
I've wanted to get this shot for a long time but it's dicey. Have to stop on a bridge. I did it, briefly, because traffic was very light. More next time.

Santa Land Goes Away
First another random view of Lubbock.
And there it is. Now, Santa Land in the process of being packed up and stored for another year, when it will be time to drag it out again and pretend once again that there really is a Santa Claus. But if there really is a Santa Claus, he never really goes away, does he? We could have a theology of Santa Claus! Has Santa Claus always existed? In no time at all we are in deep water and people are slaughtering each other, because, really, there can be only ONE right way to understand Santa Claus. Let's not go there.
It was nice to see that Santa's throne was still there. Kind of like the star-spangled banner. I've got some new pics of scenes in Lubbock, and these will be going up eventually.
