Still At That Old Powerhouse

It's been a long time since any energy has been generated there.
Above, see Lubbock's new center for the performing arts under construction.

These gas lines have had a nice coat of paint since the last time I visited!

I'd sure like to wander around inside, but no access is possible. And it would be trespassing.

Probably not very safe in there, either.
Exercising the telephoto. We'll stay with the old POWERHOUSE for a while.

That Old Powerhouse

Or power plant. It is also very close to a stretch of Marsha Sharp Freeway.

Will anything ever be done with this old structure? Can it be re-purposed?

Is it in danger of collapsing?

More from this location next time.

Semi-random Views Of Lubbock

Driving around but in familiar territory.

Work continues on the "Metro Tower", or whatever they are calling this thing.

Reagor Dykes! That turned into a sad story. Their downfall would really have disappointed my wife. She believed in the integrity of business men. I don't. I never have. I never will.
The Federal Building. I have some nice memories of this place.
This is just more of what you expect to find downtown.
Next, the old power plant downtown, long abandoned, and views of the Marsha Sharp Freeway! This is the last time for me, as far as these things are concerned-- no reason to ever return.

More Of The Lubbock Not Seen

At least, these areas are seen only by those who work there or have business there.

I like this stuff-- WE liked this stuff.

Obscure and out of the way places.

We always wished we could get behind the fences. I guess I could come back and lift the camera above the fences. Surely that would not be trespassing.

More Locations Crossed Off My List

Never again will I photograph any of these places. I'll never revisit any of these places.

This area was usually a fertile ground for the kinds of pics I like to take.

Solo drives are never going to feel good. I guess I'm trying to recapture whatever memories I can, but it is certainly bittersweet.

Still not done with these views of Lubbock. I've got about five more installments of this stuff before we move on to New Braunfels, Texas. I took a lot of pics there.
