More From New Lubbock Photo Series

New Lubbock Photo Series

Nothing here but my impressions. The literal is not to be seen.

It was a nice, sunny, day when I took these. But that won't last much longer! In only a few days we are to get a wintery BLAST!! Or so they say. The local weather forecasters are never very accurate.

More to come.

New Braunfels Wurstfest and Trivia

Here are two pics taken near the entrance at Wurstfest.

There is, of course, a lot more to Wurstfest than this.

New Braunfels has a downtown full of antique stores, bars, saloons, boutiques, and other tourist traps. That downtown area is bisected by a rail road:

Most of New Braunfels and the rest of this part of Texas has nothing on which to build a foundation. The soil is mush. It shifts constantly. Here are three pics that illustrate what this can do to a house over time:

You'd be hard pressed to find a right angle. Even concrete slabs crack and shift and sink. Hillsides FLOW.
