Big Differences!

Now, we are getting nearly 50 degree F temperature differences between morning lows and daytime highs. Truly a desert climate. Maybe a slight chance of rain a week from now. Maybe.

Well, I predicted a clusterfuck and I was right. Sometimes I do not like being right.

Cool Mornings Hot Days Continue

No rain no rain no rain. Pray for rain! Praying for peace is, as always, a complete waste of time. But sooner or later it will rain and you might as well enjoy the delusion that your prayers made a difference, and if you've been casting spells you can enjoy the delusion that your "magic" made a difference. And so it goes. I'll water again today. Because the rain is staying away.

By the way, is Uri Geller still alive? Is he still bending spoons? Is he still praying for peace?

More Reality?

 Retreat?

Does that translate into losing?

I wouldn't expect any denizen of the insane asylum we know as MAGALAND to get any of it.

Same Old Same Old. Again.

I've decided to do things a little differently. It has to do with my exercise routine. I hate going to the gym but I must. But I don't think I need to go as often. I'm going to try two intense sessions per week and use more of my own weights here at home. In the gym I'll concentrate on what I can't do at home. At home I'll concentrate on what I can do at home. Makes sense to me. Warm but not what I would call hot, given our low humidity. I've started watering. I've got stuff coming up and I'm going to have a somewhat limited jungle this time, but there will be enough for the atmosphere I crave. In past years it reached the point that a machete would have been helpful. A bit much. It's also time for chilled white wine, rather than the reds I consume during the winter. So, prepping for the coming summer months, and hoping for rainfall.

Meanwhile, MAGA world dreams that it is "winning". Dream on.

Cool Mornings

Cool mornings and very warm to hot days. There seems to be a news blackout. I guess we are not supposed to know how bad things really are. That will be tough to conceal as time goes on. Odds are, there is no winning. Losing seems more likely. But wait and see. I think we are having some real problems here, regarding lack of rainfall. When will that change, I wonder.

Yesterday St. Patrick's day, but not much green going on here. Bone dry.

No Freeze

No freeze this morning and it begins to warm. Then for a few days it will be hot. NO RAIN! I think we have a brutal drought on tap. Things need to change and bring some rain, but no such change is in the cards, at least not near term.

Meanwhile, the MAGA morons probably think we are winning, and since they are eating the usual shit from the senile putz in the White House (he's destroying it, as well as the rest of the country) and getting high on FOX fantasy, they have every reason to jump up and down and do victory laps. That seems premature to me. I'm just going to wait and see. There might be something to celebrate eventually. So save the applause for the end.

Somewhat Cold

Hot days approach. I decided to use a larger font. Big decision. So easy to do and why did I not do it before? The clouds today sometimes allow a bit of sunshine through. Winds are light. Wind chills are nominal. Rain is nil. Yes, of rain we have not. Some have no bananas, but for us there is no rain.

So, have we WON yet?

How About Some Reality?

As opposed to administration lies and fantasy and FOX propaganda? The FOX business model by the way is based on the premise that if you tell people what they want to hear and want to believe they will always listen to you. It works. But try this:

Tactical Talk

This isn't controversial at all. It's just straight talk from people who know their business.

Calm Pleasant Morning

Later, there will be wind and dust, and it will be cold tomorrow morning but all that changes rather rapidly as we will enjoy record high temperatures mid-week. Of course, it will remain dry. That is the forecast, subject to sudden change and total revision. As usual. I simply hope for another good day free of complications.

It has been a very quiet and very pleasant weekend, and more of the same is always welcome.

New Post

Yes, another day and another post in the ground. I'll be stringing some wire on them at some point. A warm one today again, turning a bit cool tomorrow with a hard freeze Monday morning. Winter is not done screwing around with us yet. Shortly after that cold snap, a heat wave! Up and down and around and around we go.

Record Heat Hard Freeze

That's what we've got coming up in our local weather. Things tend to be very changeable at this time of year, but next week, we'll be edging into very hot and dry conditions. I'm afraid to check the status of Lake Meredith and Lake Alan Henry. I'd just rather not know.

Very Windy Very Dusty

That was yesterday. This morning it got close to freezing. Soon record highs. Much lighter winds today.

No Rain Wind Dust

Kind of cold, too with that dust in the air and strong winds. It is what I would call a bummer. But there was severe weather and a tornado threat where it did rain, and I sure didn't want that. Our violent climate is kicking into high gear.

Late winter, and spring (sproing!) are seasons you just hope to survive without taking too much damage, here on the high plains of Texas.

Storm Threats!

All of those storm threats are off to the east of Lubbock. It was nice and humid this morning. I've got a feeling that humidity is all we'll be getting. No rain again. I guess I'll settle for humidity. Now there is talk of a draft, so that young men can fight and die for Israel whether they want to or not. That ought to kick the MAGA twerps in the ass. Draft those "proud boys" and send them off to the desert to die for Israel. Serve 'em right.

I think I would be amused.

DST Again

Again, I ignore DST. That worked very well last year. I can make adjustments when I have to interact with someone who is using DST. I don't go through the clock ritual. It's stupid. It's silly. Tomorrow it might rain but I wouldn't bet on it. Texas is in quite a bad situation. Most cities in this state are consuming water at a rate faster than reservoirs and aquifers can recharge, if the aquifers recharge at all. How long can that go on? Limits to growth? You bet. And those limits have already been exceeded. But the fescue has not hit the fan yet. But it will. It most definitely will.

Katie bar the door when the fescue hits the fan.
