Milder And More Sunflowers

After a few more days of rather high temperatures it looks as though we will enter August with milder weather and some slight rain chances. July is usually our hottest month. I'm happy to be past that. I find it interesting to be living in the early stages of a major extinction event, an extinction event caused by the activity of an "intelligent" species. Not intelligent enough, unfortunately. Smart enough to be dangerous, but not smart enough for long-term survival. If ever a species deserved extinction, it is Homo Sapiens. Colonies on Mars? I think not. Elon Musk is on a fool's errand, and it might even be a scam. Or maybe just a billionaire's self-aggrandizing fantasy. Pouring vast amounts of money down a toilet for the fun of it? "Wheee! See what I can do? Look on and despair!" It's time for more of those sunflowers.

Species come and species go, and sometimes they can't go fast enough!
