Random Views Of Lubbock, And A Surprise!

This is just stuff we ran across while driving around, in town and in the county.

Straight and level. Just the way we like it.

Out in the boonies...

But this, above, is the wind power museum. And now the surprise: MENARD!!

It was cold and damp when we stopped at this motel in Menard, Texas. Our next stop would have been Junction, but it was too late and we were too tired to continue that day.

It was a great little motel, clean and quiet and cozy. We were well-rested the next morning, and that's when I walked around outside and took these pictures.

Menard is only lively during deer hunting season.

This was NOT deer hunting season.

A Little Lubbock, And Then Anton

Yep, a little bit of Lubbock, and then a long photo series spotlighting, Anton, Texas. We found Anton to be as depressing as Ropesville. Downtown on a Sunday afternoon was deserted. It was full of ruins, abandoned buildings and businesses that had failed. It was sad.

Lubbock has ruins, too. But now, on to ANTON!
