Still Closed For Business

But let's hope that state won't be permanent. So, I continued my walk-around.

They kept the flies out. How many restaurants around here can say that?

The structure seems sound.

Maybe these closed doors will reopen.

Looks like compliant fire protection, and that's another plus.
Looking through the entrance. Everything is in place. No signs of a leaking roof. Very neat and clean. Menu items still on the chalkboard. What happened??

I found out what happened: https://www.kcbd.com/2019/05/09/former-ruby-tequilas-head-foote-california-prison/

Closed For Business?

It has been like this for years, and I don't understand why.

I did eat here, once, and the food and service were good, and the place had lots of customers.

So I did a walk-around and the building seems to be in good shape. The parking lot is going back to nature but that can be fixed.

It even seems to have everything necessary inside to reopen with minimal effort, if not under the original name then with some other name-- it seems ready made. Why start from scratch when you've got at least 90% of the required structure already there, virtually ready for use??

I'd like to see this structure reoccupied and reopened. More views in later posts...

Finishing This Part Of Lubbock

After this we'll be heading out to an abandoned restaurant. I got some good pics there.

I did some telephoto in this area. Actually, now that I think of it, we are already in another part of town, off of Avenue A. I've been here before but I decided to take another look at it.

I did not focus on the same things this time.

This is one of those places where I get hit pretty bad by feelings of loss. But next time we'll look at that abandoned restaurant. I never understood why it shut down. It seemed fairly popular. I ate there on at least one occasion several years ago. It was busy then.

Looking At More Lubbock

I'm just staying in one small area for this current series.

Lots of people drive through here at various times, but I'm sure none of them really SEE anything. It's my job to SEE things. And SHOW what I SEE. See?

Details, details.

More of this in the future, with the proviso that the future might at any moment be suddenly cancelled. Wise to keep that in mind.
