A Festival In Petersburg

Some of the small towns in this area struggle to survive. I don't know whether that is true of Petersburg.

They did put on a nice little festival. They tried their best.

We enjoyed the old cars, lovingly restored.

Some people even collect and restore vintage tractors!

Next time, we will feature some of the buildings in Petersburg, some commercial and some residential.

A Festival In Petersburg!

Yes, not so long ago we journeyed to Petersburg, to attend a little festival there. It was a little cool and a little rainy, but we took some photos of the event, and whatever there was of interest in the small town. But we did not get there early enough for the parade.

There was music, and food, and there were equestrians giving free rides on their trained horses.

We were there for the old cars. They had some nice ones.

The owners of these vehicles were not afraid to get them out on the road. Not one of them arrived on a trailer.

Packard knew how to make really strange looking cars! And then they went out of business.
More to come. More Petersburg for the people, yes.

Out In The County, Still

Maybe we can finish this series. I have so many more pics. I've gotten way behind!

We like the ruins, out in the County.

I complain about the junk, but actually, that's what I like to photograph.

Living in the middle of a junkyard wouldn't bother me much at all, I sometimes think. But I wouldn't subject my wife to that. In actual practice it might not be that great.

Meanwhile, you've always got signs of oil business. I wonder what it would take to kill off the oil business, once and for all.

Out in Lubbock County, you can live in the very middle of this, and smell rotten eggs 24/7.

And so we say farewell to this latest EXCLUSIVE photo documentary, and we are free now to move on to other views of other things.
