A Beautiful Morning

By any standard, very fine, and last evening was terrific as well. This is shaping up to be a good October. By the way, the advice I'd give any young woman would be to skip all thoughts of family, and focus on career. Marriage is the most masochistic and self-limiting choice that a woman can make. If you can afford it, have your tubes tied. Ignore your parents, ignore all other family members, ignore your church, because none of them have your best interests at heart. Do NOT fall into the hopeless trap of marriage and family. If you must marry, make sure that there will not be children. Selfish? I don't think so. Besides, if it is selfish, isn't selfishness considered a virtue today?  i don't think anyone should be a slave to their instincts. Or a slave to societal norms, or cultural traditions. And make no apologies.

I suspect that conservative women have a slave mentality.

Warming Again

Up and down the temperatures go at this time of year. We got some rain last afternoon, which surprised me. A nice surprise. Great evening last evening. I was out pretty late on the patio enjoying the cool breezes.

More Like October

Cool and cloudy this morning and it's even more like October than yesterday. Step by step. I did more outside last evening. The path I made last year, I think it was, got a bit overgrown and it actually sank. I'll fix that this weekend after I buy a dozen sixteen inch square pavers. I'll just put those on top of what I already have, in the part that sank into the soil.  And then later some bricks to fill gaps and I'll need twenty of those. The work is never done but if ever got "done" then what would I have to do, eh? The secret garden is a work in progress and it changes from year to year. Never the same! That "channeling" stuff no longer interests me at all, and although I could do a lot of fiction I don't see the point. I can be as withdrawn now as I want to be, and I find that I want to be VERY withdrawn. I'm very annoyed when I go to the gym and find someone who wants to make conversation. I'm not there for that. And yet I see people in the gym who do almost nothing else, or they sit on a machine and stare at their smart phones. I don't understand the people who live in and by and for and through their smart phones. Of course, if that's what they want to do, let them do it. Let's just say that they aren't people I want to know or have anything at all to do with. They impress me as defective, even pathological. They give me the creeps. They seem like some kind of mutant organism. Alien. I realize that some people in the gym have an agenda of some sort, a social agenda, and maybe they are trying to hook up to someone for one reason or another, but I'm there to get a workout, a good, solid, workout, and that is ALL.

I don't have a social agenda of any kind, as far as I can tell. I used to, but not now. In fact, not in the past seven or eight years. All gone.

An October Morning!

A cool north wind and clouds and very light misty rain inspired me to take on another task in the backyard. Home Depot at some point for supplies, probably this weekend and then more work will be done. I really like to work outside at this time of year. I am crafting something very special that I will be happy to see, and it will evolve, change, as nature does its thing, working magic on this structure. Ephemeral it will be, as all natural things are and I suspect that I am the only human being on the planet who will be able to see the beauty in this construct. No problem. I'm the only one who will ever see it, for it is hidden in the Secret Garden. Yesterday evening I had to service the wind chime I made a few years ago. Access was difficult but I got it done.

A Fine Evening

Very nice evening on the patio yesterday, almost vintage quality, good to watch the moonrise, an October moon. But it required a lot of bug spray. Our impending pattern change won't really be much of a change at all. This is going to be a rather warm October by the looks of things. And dry. More work outside but detail stuff. I don't think I have anything very major to do until next month.
