Weather Steadily Improves

We have plenty of sunshine and it is getting warmer each day. The rain has been turning things green around here. That is good to see. Measles cases in the area approach 500 and another child is dead.

Warm Windy Dusty

Not a dust storm but windy enough to raise some dust and it is cloudy as well. A bit of a weather change is due this weekend. Rain on Friday?

I got my outdoor chores completed early.

Very Nice Weather

We might have better rain chances in a few days. Of course, those chances might evaporate, like the last rain chances, that quickly went to zero, effectively.

I might not have a jungle this year. It might be more like a meadow. The bindweed might not have survived the winter cold. But it is still early. I must wait, and see.

It's Unfair

Deep South Texas, along the Rio Grande Valley gets far too much rain and is experiencing flooding. We sit in a deepening drought and get nothing. Par for the dismal course. That's life in this misbegotten universe. It's a crap shoot. I did a lot yesterday and have only a few more tasks today. Warming and no rain but fortunately no dust in the air. We did experience heavy fog yesterday morning. Whoopee. Let's celebrate. But a rain like some areas have recently experienced would be catastrophic for Lubbock. Most of the city would be underwater, I suspect. I don't think anything like that, a truly massive rainfall of 15 to 20 inches in a relatively short period of time, has ever happened here, and I hope it never does. But, since it's all a crap shoot, the next role of the dice...
