We are out of the triple digits and our temperatures continue to moderate. It was pleasant on the patio this morning. It is still not as cool as I would like but we are getting there, and there is change in the air.
Not all change is bad.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

The heat wave goes away. The last of August looks good and the early part of September looks even better.
Now the temps moderate, finally, after that heat wave. It is very cloudy today. If these clouds persist, we might not be hot at all today. Relief at last!
105 F yesterday and the same again today, but very low humidity. The heat index is not that severe, and I could enjoy coffee on the patio this morning, despite the 80 F morning "low". Another record high today, but after that, maybe a slow return to somewhat milder temps and cooler mornings. Eventually, this must happen. But August has been really bad. We got lucky in the early part of the summer, with rain and mostly seasonal highs, but we are not so lucky this month.
Today and tomorrow might be the worst. This is extreme. This is the sort of heat wave that will become more frequent and more deadly in the future, as the planet heats up. You can't pump enormous amounts of carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere, generation after generation, without suffering catastrophic consequences. This is just the beginning, a little preview of what will be. Censorship and wishful thinking won't make it go away. The laws of nature are inexorable and they have no regard for human happiness, human hopes, human dreams, religious beliefs, or human survival. Hold a loaded gun up to your head and pull the trigger. You're dead. That simple. Cause and effect.
