Heat Wave

 We are having a nasty turn of the weather this August. Heat wave. A prolonged period of triple digits. I hope it doesn't last as long as some of the forecast models have it. 

No Thunderstorms

 The August heat goes on. I note that some weather channels predict an early onset of cooler temps but who knows. Too many variables. I certainly would not mind that, if it does happen. Our heat index has been several degrees lower than the actual temps recorded, thanks to low humidity. It's also been fairly breezy each day. I also note that apocalyptic fundamentalists are once again expecting to be "raptured". Didn't they go off on that kick way back in the eighties? Don't they ever learn anything? Isn't it written that "the end" will be completely unexpected, and arrive like a thief in the night? Just goes to show how foolish fundamentalists are. Frankly, I don't buy that rapture stuff at all. A late addition, from a questionable source, probably a temporal lobe epileptic with a penchant for boasting, who had dreams and hallucinations; a liar and braggart. Fella name o' Paul. Cranky old coot with an axe to grind. "Paul" is best forgotten. That's just my opinion. But it's an INFORMED opinion. 

Things around here are no longer this green and lush. The heat has not been kind. 

Quite Warm!

 It WAS quite warm yesterday but wind and low humidity made it easy to cope with. Today we've got a lot of cloud cover. It was already warm this morning! But it sure looks like a good set up for thunderstorms later. That would be nice. 

Many things could be, would be, nice indeed if only they would happen. I've got a list but it's best to keep it to myself. It's my personal and private wish list. 

Those Triple Digits

 Looks like triple digits every day for quite a while. Fortunately low humidity and breezy, too, during this period. I'm eager for the next norther, and the transition to cooler weather. It might take another month to get there. 

And we could sure use more rain! Don't hear much anymore about those Texas earthquakes but they continue, hundreds of them. 

Another Cool Morning

 This cool morning is probably the last one we will experience, until the next norther, and that one should be stronger. Temperatures will soar again before that happens. Truly, the human race is living on borrowed time. The insane party, the drunken orgy,  is about to devolve into madness and death, on a scale never seen before. At least, that's the most likely scenario for the future. No colonies on Mars, that's for sure. 

Eventually, even the billionaires will die. Of them, one might well say: good riddance.
