A Norther

That was to be expected, but it isn't that cold. Just rather windy and uncomfortable. As usual, many things accomplished yesterday. Satisfactory.

Warm And Humid

It feels good. A bit of a freeze on the way but I hope it won't be cold enough long enough to damage vegetation. Probably not. Most of the "landscaping" is done. I might think of a few things to do later. I'd like to refinish some outdoor furniture. I could do that today! It would be a good project for a cloudy day. I could work in the garage. Gosh knows, I've got plenty of stains to apply. I buy that stuff at estate sales. I've got all kinds of useful things purchased at estate sales and garage sales years ago. I need to use some of it.

Rain seems unlikely now.

Got A Lot Done

I did a lot more yesterday than I thought I'd have time for, but everything fell into place. That felt really good. Things are shaping up around here. Now I need to decide whether to plant something, and if so, what. Like, drought resistant and tough enough to survive extreme heat and cold. And hot, dry, winds up to 30 mph sustained and gusts much higher than that. The sunflowers and goosefoot are coming up on their own. For all practical purposes, those are perennials. But I'd like something different, too. Maybe Lantana. Maybe dwarf Magnolia. Plenty of time to decide. I have a tree coming up in a rather awkward spot, too near a fence, but I'll let it grow for a few years before I cut it down and perhaps use the wood. If it wasn't so close to that fence I'd let it grow.

It'll be a little too cool to be comfortable outdoors, but for only a few days. Maybe rain. We sure do need that rain! I've got the irrigation system working again, but rain is best. My late wife and her first husband put in that system, having learned how to do such things when they owned a golf course. It's nice to have.

An Almost Visionary Evening

I made some minor adjustment outdoors and as the sun set I noticed details in my surroundings that were what one might call numinous, and so I photographed those things, and those photos will appear here, eventually. I recalled "Blue Cheer", the first LSD I ever dropped, and last night's experience brought back memories. It's amazing how meanings can attach to rather mundane things, so that they are transformed.

There's really nothing quite like an acid experience. Nothing is ever quite that same after that, even many years later. In my case, those memories are like a resource I can draw upon.

Lots Done Yesterday

I can finish the landscaping this week if the weather holds, and it looks like it will. The effect will be quite pleasing, at least to me. And what I think is all that matters.
