What terrific weather we are having now and it looks like a full week of rain chances, minus severe weather risks, and very comfortable temperatures. Yes, yes. Thank you Uri Geller, wherever you might be. Now would be a good time to pray for pizza. And beer!
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

Hot Yesterday!
But now we enter a regime of moderating temperatures and increasing rain chances. I've been looking forward to that. El Nino might be making a difference this year.
I think all or most of these photos were taken in Spur. I have all sorts of connections to Spur. At least lots of memories of Spur, over the years. About twenty years ago I was there for a high school graduation. That was my first visit to Spur. I would have liked to see the town when it was in better condition, but I think that might have been too long ago. I can't see places like this as having much of a future.

It's Unusual
Strange to have decent weather at any time of the year around here, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts and getting things done. Ah, the daily round, the daily routine, is something I enjoy. It isn't complicated and I keep it simple and attend to the necessary.
I believe we are still in Spur. Spur used to be one of our favorite places to explore. We never got to eat at the Dixie Dog. Somehow they were never open when we were there. We found another restaurant once, and that necessitated an urgent trip to a public rest room. Talk about adventure! The food TASTED good, but...

95 F Yesterday
It was hot yesterday but dry air and perfect breezes made it quite comfortable. Amazing May so far. No sweltering heat wave yet, cool mornings, and rain chances are due to increase. Next week's cooler temperatures will be ideal. It's nice to have little to complain about, for a change. Complain I do. What of it? I've been quite busy lately, but I'm doing things I don't mind having to do. Today I got a little of the jungle under control. I like to have pathways and islands of order here and there. Evening wine on the patio has been quite gratifying. I have not noticed any mosquitoes yet, and that's kind of surprising. I'm going to try a botanical repellant this year, with no DEET. I hope it works.
The photos were taken in Spur several years ago, maybe almost ten years ago, when life was much better for me. You might want to visit Spur, and eat at the Dixie Dog, and I hope that establishment is still open! I do not believe that I will ever visit Spur again. The memories are too poignant.

Cool Mornings Warm Days
Maybe I complain too much about the local climate. It isn't always bad. This time in May, this year, happens to be quite pleasant. Cool mornings and warm days. And we did have fairly substantial rain recently. My private jungle is growing like gangbusters. Next week I'll have to do a lot of watering to keep everything green and growing. I like to water. I've made a lot of improvements for the sake of privacy and security and what I consider beauty and interest. I'd like to have an old tractor parked in the middle of the backyard, or a vintage auto, rusting away. I could afford to do it, but that seems extravagant. Who knows what the future would bring? Save! Be frugal! Avoid extravagance! Prepare for that "rainy day". And all that other wise and prudent stuff. I like to be wise and prudent as much as I like to water. I like to water. Pray for water! I enjoy doing good deeds! Pray for good deeds!
You know what? Faith is shit. You can take your faith and shove it up your bleeding ass, for all the good it does. Whatever it happens to be. ACTIONS count. And nothing else. I truly despise "people of faith". They're fucking worthless.
