The rain came with a barrage of hail, as usual, looking for a while like a snowfall of several inches. But the hail was not large, not even as large as your typical Easter egg, so damage was minimal. But there was a lot of it. It happens every year. The rain was needed, but it just goes to show, that you can't have a boon without a bane. Offsetting penalties and no gain.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

Yes, Yes, A Nice Weekend
You can actually feel humidity in the air! And there are chances of showers later. Will wonders never cease? I finally got all of Sue Grafton's novels in the "alphabet" series and I am going to read them all in order, even though that will mean re-reading many that I must have read ten years or more ago. That's fine. I have those to read in the evening and I have non-fiction to read during the day. I had an enjoyable and almost sublime time outdoors yesterday and I aim for the same today. I did some work on one of my pawnshop guitar finds yesterday and corrected some minor issues. The oldest guitar I have dates back to the early sixties. It is an acoustic from Western Auto that might have sold for as much as $15 back then. I got it at an estate sale, making a bid, and I was the highest bidder at not much more than that. It required extensive set up and fret work and a re-positioned bridge, but now it plays well right up to the 14th fret, perfect intonation, reasonable action, and it sounds funky and bluesy with a set of medium gauge electric guitar strings. I did NOT replace the tuners. They are primitive but cool.
Back to the sunflowers, at least for a while.

Yes, A Nice Weekend
Enjoy them when you've got them, because they are rare. Especially around here. I will enjoy the fruits of my recent labors. I will certainly enjoy the fruits of the vine. Sometimes life is good, but only briefly. When there is light, bask in it, and appreciate.
And Russia, like Carthage, MUST be destroyed.

So Much Accomplished
I think I deserve a rest, after getting so much done yesterday. It'll be a pleasant weekend, it seems. Very moderate temps, and light wind. Not much needing to be done.

Nice Days On The Way
We might actually have a full week of fairly pleasant weather! That'll be great. Get ready for that great pagan holiday, complete with giant rabbits bringing magical eggs. A fertility rite, obviously, and it's all very strange and confusing. Human sacrifice is an essential part of it, or at least the celebration of human sacrifice. The human brain can be a very disturbing thing.
I still have work to do. I'd like to do a human sacrifice with whoever coined the term "app". There ought to a stiff penalty for stupid shit like that. Computers run PROGRAMS. Say PROGRAM, not "app". Fuck "app". You can take your "app" and stick it up your "ass".
