An Alley 2

I had a busy day yesterday, doing a lot of stuff before a stupid norther hit. Windy and bone dry. This area will probably look like the Sahara eventually. And the desert southwest well be a desert again, and largely uninhabitable. This is what happens when you "increase and multiply". Worst advice ever given. I took an unaccustomed drive way out west here in Lubbock, and I saw overpopulation in action. Housing developments for which there will be not enough water in the near future, non-sustainable growth, and crazy traffic congestion-- and blowing dust. A bleak and sterile environment dotted with look-alike houses, too many cars, and way the heck too many people. And blowing dust.

Lots of people will not approve of my sentiments, but lots of people can kiss my ass.

An Alley 1

We are back to those alleys I like so much, and this one will be displayed in black and white. Over 920,000 Covid deaths in the US-- more like 922,000+ as the Omicron wave passes. Omicron seems to have gone past the peak in most countries. What next?

It will be in the seventies here today and tomorrow! A cold SNAP Thursday and it passes quickly, or at least one hopes so. The drought is severe and lingers on and on.

Last Of The Sunflowers

After this it's going to be other stuff and in that other stuff will be some black and white stuff. But first this stuff.

I'll miss this stuff, but stuff like this should make a return appearance if all goes well this year. It will just take some time.

Sunflowers 91

Seven days with no Covid data from Russia. They've simply stopped reporting. Things must be very bad.

By this time tomorrow the US will have passed 920,000 Covid deaths. The sunflowers march on, but that will be ending in the near future.

Sunflowers 90

Sunflowers! I sure have done a lot of these things!

It looks like Russia stopped reporting Covid data six days ago, not long after that huge spike in cases. The weekly death toll in Israel is higher now than it's been at any time during the pandemic. In most countries the Omicron wave seems to have peaked. Will there be another variant, and another peak in cases and deaths? And another? And another? Nobody seems to know. What I do know, is that the clouds here are already breaking up, we are getting sunshine and this latest winter bumblast is nothing like the last one. I expect to be out and about soon. On the exercise front, the weight bench I bought a year or so ago was a very good investment. I've found a lot of benefit in doing seated barbell and dumbbell shoulder presses and butterflies and reclining dumbbell curls. Not to mention ab crunches and other exercises I've made up that I've never seen anyone else do. Nothing beats free weights.
