Sunflowers 91

Seven days with no Covid data from Russia. They've simply stopped reporting. Things must be very bad.

By this time tomorrow the US will have passed 920,000 Covid deaths. The sunflowers march on, but that will be ending in the near future.

Sunflowers 90

Sunflowers! I sure have done a lot of these things!

It looks like Russia stopped reporting Covid data six days ago, not long after that huge spike in cases. The weekly death toll in Israel is higher now than it's been at any time during the pandemic. In most countries the Omicron wave seems to have peaked. Will there be another variant, and another peak in cases and deaths? And another? And another? Nobody seems to know. What I do know, is that the clouds here are already breaking up, we are getting sunshine and this latest winter bumblast is nothing like the last one. I expect to be out and about soon. On the exercise front, the weight bench I bought a year or so ago was a very good investment. I've found a lot of benefit in doing seated barbell and dumbbell shoulder presses and butterflies and reclining dumbbell curls. Not to mention ab crunches and other exercises I've made up that I've never seen anyone else do. Nothing beats free weights.

Sunflowers 89

And so these fine days continue. A bit of winter is due to return tomorrow, but it won't be much, unless something screwy happens with that great atmospheric deterministic engine.

In only a few more days I will be posting more of my favorite kinds of things in my favorite kinds of places.

Sunflowers 88

It's 88! The day is beginning well. A little windy but there is plenty of sunshine and temps will be mild, and warmer than the previous day. All of that is good.

We near the end of the sunflowers, but then there will be more of my favorite things. Unfortunately, and sadly, the US Covid death toll is now over 912,000.

Sunflowers 87

I wonder how you would display a digital collectable? Put a thumb drive on a shelf? Bloody stupid. It seems to me that the entire "digital world" is throw away garbage. Reality is analog. It's analog at every level. Your brain is an analog device. Art worthy of the name is analog. Digital photography is not and never will be "art". It takes no skill. It's endlessly reproducible and can be modified at will. Cheap, lazy, garbage, no matter how pretty it is, but is it creative? I don't think so. How much of the brain is required to produce it? Not much. I think my sunflower pics and other pics I do are interesting at best, maybe pretty sometimes-- but nothing like that is of any consequence. 99.9% of any digital production is in the DEVICE! Very little is in the hand, eye, brain of the piss-ant creator. With that said, how about some more sunflowers, eh? Eh?

Screw the digital world. The metaverse is crap.
