I'm really glad I spent so much time there. I hope I can find something equally interesting this weekend. The weather should be poor, and sometimes that helps
It might be another alley or I might find something else. I have several candidates in mind.
Most locations will require telephoto, but some don't. Location will determine choice of camera.
Sometimes I can find things behind fences, like this truck. The fence had gaps.
But we'll still be at this location next time.
It might be a good place to escape the pandemic in...
Trying to get a little more detail. I heard about the 5G conspiracy today. Some people are really seriously crazy. Very, very seriously crazy. This alley, by contrast, is a sane place. No flat-Earthers, no chemtrail nuts, no 5G loonies, quite deserted. A good place to be, as opposed to the places where many people gather.
It has always been the case that where many people gather, a certain percentage will be crazy, perhaps even dangerously crazy. Now, you not only have the menace of that seemingly fixed percentage who are deranged-- you have the menace of those who might be infected. And some of those infected might well be deranged as well! No wonder I've always hated crowds!
We'll still be in this alley next time.
It seemed very safe, and very peaceful.
Scenes of tranquility on a cold, damp, morning.
These pipes might have connected to a gas meter, once upon a time.
I like these details. More next time.
Yeah, why not get fancy and call these pics "studies"??
As always I try to squeeze as much as possible out of the most mundane things I can find.
These things are natural objects. Man-made, yes, but humans are natural objects. Flowing water and wind erode matter into interesting shapes. Human beings are as flowing water and wind, shaping matter into interesting configurations. Even better when other natural forces work upon these human-shaped configurations. The result is a kind of hybrid, but still as natural as anything else. That's the sort of stuff I like to explore.
That's really the whole idea behind my photography, such as it is. More of this next time.
I'm happy to have explored it.
Reality?
Stark!
The alley! Not finished yet!
