Brand New Pics!

I found a great location. I'll be back there again and again, doing what I have wanted to do for a long time, and that is: examine one location minutely. Consider this the intro.

I've only scratched the surface, here, and a long focus lens will reveal much more.

This is the sort of stuff I really like. I see no problem in getting out and about to take plenty of the kinds of pics I like. Recently I was forced by corrupted Windows 7 files to do an upgrade to Windows 10. I let a professional do it. I took my computer to AKRAM computers here in Lubbock and the result was excellent. I lost nothing, all files preserved and all old programs still work fine. It isn't the same as Windows 7 but the differences are minor and the computer is much more stable and secure. I'm glad I did it! I know, I put the change off, and thought it would be the end of the world, but I was wrong. I am no longer afraid of Windows 10. I can manage the change. Not the end of the world at all.

Finishing 50th and Joliet

I drove by there yesterday, and the work has progressed a lot, so I guess I'll be out there again soon. So fascinating.

There's a lot of power and communications stuff out there, too.

I guess this stuff will stay.

Again, I'm out of pics. I really need to drive around more and get more stuff. I see things at various times and think, gee, I ought to come back with a camera, but time passes and I forget what I saw. Maybe I should make a habit of carrying a camera. Of course, if I had one of those damned iphones I'd always have a camera, but forget that. I really think iphones make people stupid. I mean, more than they already are... almost like FOX news.

Lubbock Landmark Coming Down

It's the elevated water storage at 50th and Joliet. Been there for many years and it is being taken down to be replaced by a more modern structure.

It's hard to see when you are this close but a lot of the top structure has already been removed.

I might visit this area several times, to capture the demolition and replacement process. More of this next time. I will give Lubbock credit for maintaining infrastructure, unlike many cities, where things like this are left to decay, because the money goes elsewhere. Here in Lubbock you don't have to worry about Mafia contractors doing shoddy work either. Of course, we do get shoddy work at times but I don't think the mob has anything to do with that.

A Few Photos From A New Location

But not all that far from the last location.
This appears to be an old Thunderbird! What's that doing here??

And an old VW-- are these things kept around for sentimental reasons?

That's it. I need to get some more photos! Maybe this weekend.

Let's Finish This Location

Then I can move on to something else.

Some parts of Lubbock look like this.
And like this.

But there is only one place in Lubbock that looks like this.

And like this. Next time, we move on to something else.
