Santa Land Goes Away

First another random view of Lubbock.

And there it is. Now, Santa Land in the process of being packed up and stored for another year, when it will be time to drag it out again and pretend once again that there really is a Santa Claus. But if there really is a Santa Claus, he never really goes away, does he? We could have a theology of Santa Claus! Has Santa Claus always existed? In no time at all we are in deep water and people are slaughtering each other, because, really, there can be only ONE right way to understand Santa Claus. Let's not go there.

It was nice to see that Santa's throne was still there. Kind of like the star-spangled banner. I've got some new pics of scenes in Lubbock, and these will be going up eventually.

Lubbock Construction/Demolition

Pretty much random stuff.

They are doing things but I don't know what.

Because of the location it probably has something to do with sewage.

And this stuff is in a different location and might have something to do with paving. More of this exciting stuff next time.

Finishing No Business

And it is really no business of mine what happened here. I'm only showing how things stand.

It is what it is. We do not know precisely how it became what it is.

These are the leavings, the aftermath.

 Swamp coolers work well in this dry climate, but this one has about had it.

Just about finished.

That is it. Next time we examine Lubbock under construction and Santa Land under demolition. Yep, this is a whizzing and whirring arcing and sparking super-dymaxion blast-off and jet-off-take kind of city. Or maybe not. Actually, I would prefer less growth.

Definitely Closed For Business

Now that I've found the reason for the closure, I assume the property is in some sort of legal limbo and will remain there.  A shame. I'll continue the walk-around.

There was another one of these in Amarillo, and it closed at the same time.

Somebody might want to search out the corporate entity that, apparently, owned and controlled both places, and do some research there, but that's not for me.
