It seems to be nearing completion-- maybe this winter?
The usual debris.
More debris.
Pipes!
Section o' pipe...
What it will look like!
Pretty neat!
This is the thing that will attract attention! But before they come, it must be built. More construction photos next time and I will finish this series. Getting ready for another one.
It was really windy when I took these pics. Hard to hold the camera still.
I found one of those "Lubbock Angels" trapped under the fence.
LHUCA is nearby, which might have something to do with "the arts" here in Lubbock.
Infrastructure is always fascinating.
Buddy Holly Hall will be for the performing arts. Active and kinetic and auditory type things.
It was so windy a block of high density foam insulation blew off and landed outside the fence. A bead of construction adhesive was not able to hold it. I put it in my car and took it home, as a memento. More of this next time.
Sunday morning in Lubbock was windy and dusty and bleak. But I took some photos of Buddy Holly Hall, a performing arts center, under construction and nearing completion. First time I've taken a close look. I used a lot of telephoto. Couldn't get close due to fencing.
Peculiar structure above. I had no idea what that would be until I saw the artist's or architect's rendering.
This structure is very close to the Civic Center and main library downtown, and not far from the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
It seems that this will form part of a tower supporting a kind of light sculpture, which ought to be an interesting addition to the skyline, and visible for many miles!
Close to Lubbock Symphony headquarters.
More on this next time.
I will have something else to photograph this weekend.
I suspect that this place will be here for many more years.
It's already been there for many years.
I've been out here with a camera many times, and every time I've been here, It's been different.
Until the next time...
