Continuing That Alley downtown

This is only one of many alleys we explored in downtown Lubbock. It smelled pretty bad back there. I don't recall it smelling like that the first time we checked it.

Pretty funky, especially around this rather shaky loading dock.

It's all pretty old stuff back here.

Look at all the corrosion and corruption on these gas meters!

A hard push and the walls might fall down.

Did I mention that a set of railroad tracks run through this alley?

Maybe I should come back during the work week to see what kind of activity there might be. But next time we see what I found by moving a few blocks away.

Another Alley In Downtown Lubbock

We investigated this area in the early days of our relationship. I was pleased to return with a better camera and probe more closely.

There's a lot of funky stuff here.

There's a loading dock here, and it stank.

This was interesting-- note the old fire engine. It has been restored.
I think something died back under this rather shaky structure. More next time.

The Garden, The Garden

After about five inches of rain it is looking really good again. Now the stuff that blooms in the fall is opening up and all of a sudden I'm getting lots of tomatoes.

It was dry and hot when I took these photos.

I'll have to scrub the birdbaths, eventually. Lots of work to do over the winter and into the spring.

Well, next time I'll have some stuff from downtown Lubbock, and a few things that will be sort of off the beaten path.
