Levelland, Set 7

I think the photos get more interesting as we go forward in this series...

Levelland Set 6

I could have photographed a lot more than I did, but I always feel a bit nervous taking these photos, since I'm not photographing things of "obvious" interest...

Even in Levelland, you have to be mindful of small town paranoia. It's a good thing I don't look like a hippie anymore. And my wife knows people everywhere we go. I'm sure I could depend on her to talk us out of any difficulties.

Levelland, Set 5

There actually is a lot to see and do in Levelland, thanks to South Plains College. Relatively speaking. I would not mind living in Levelland. I think I might become suicidal living in Tahoka, but that's just me. Levelland, Tahoka-- very different cities with very different governing philosophies, it seems.

If it looks kind of dead in these photos, remember, we visited Sunday afternoon. Most small towns around here roll up the sidewalks on Sunday. But that's good for me, in terms of photography, because I don't want people in the way.

Levellandia Continues, Set 4

Remember, these have been reduced in size to fit your browser. The original digital files will print nicely at poster size, but these will not.

Levellandia, Set 3

Doing my level best here--- ha. Ha.

I can't explain the cannon. I don't know enough about the customs of this town. Could be, it is used in a July Fourth celebration. It appears to be homemade, like soup.
