More Old Photos

Continuing Random Images

I'm not even going to indicate anymore whether these are Lubbock images or something else. There is snow on the ground, more snow and ice is on the way, and there's no chance of getting out today. These things just fill time and space...

Continuing "Old Lubbock"

The sad thing is, we are in a deep and desperate drought here, and the frozen precip in the forecast does not even remotely begin to get us out of the drought. It would take several feet of snow to make a dent. And that is not going to happen. And if it did, that kind of snowfall would be a disaster in and of itself, since Lubbock is not equipped to deal with a snow event of that magnitude.

More Pictures!

And why not? We are under a winter storm warning. The roads are slick with ice and it is crazy to go outside. My wife and I are both retired. We don't have to go anywhere. We got groceries and supplies before the storm hit and the weather was still very nice. We are cozy, and thankful for what we have. We have what we need, and we have each other. Some people couldn't be happy under any circumstances. Whatever they have it isn't enough, isn't good enough, isn't abundant enough, isn't stylish enough, might not impress people, and on and on. My wife pities such people. I despise them and I delight in their lack of contentment and peace. Let them DIE unsatisfied. Yeah, I'm a mean SOB...

Old Lubbock pics...

The weather is so lousy, I dug through old archives and found some more pics. Some of these were taken a long time ago and not all were taken in Lubbock. But they are all of some interest. So, I will start putting these up, before I try the next project, which will revive parts of Unofficial Lubbock, the Unofficial Lubbock Website I had years ago, hosted on AT&T when I still used a dial-up modem!!

While I am on a nostalgia kick, let me just state for the record that my wife and I listen to 97.7 FM, here in Lubbock, Texas. It is an excellent "oldies" station!
