It Rained Again!

 Wow! Such a watery and mild August I can't recall. It could rain again today, with a 60% chance. And the 10 day forecast has us going into September with rain chances each day and high temps below 90 F. Cool mornings as well. What a relief. But the general global warming will continue, and climate chaos is here to stay.  Artemis, that obscene money pit, fizzled on the launch pad yesterday. It's a bridge to nowhere. It's the world's most expensive phallic symbol. I expect total and spectacular failure if it ever launches. Money down the toilet. Manned spaceflight, to the moon and Mars, is a stupid endeavor. It would be smarter to focus on social welfare, improving the quality of life for everyone. And I just saw, outside my window, something rather strange. There was a contrail and a fast moving aircraft, moving East to West, a bright dot leaving the contrail behind it (and I assumed that dot was the aircraft), and then that silvery dot vanished and the contrail terminated. I've never seen anything like that before. 

I'm still happiest living in the past, as far as possible, and thinking about the past. 

All Manner Of Rain Has Fallen

 Heavy and general rain swept the area again last night, and it was quite a terrific thing to experience after so much drought. It's too soggy for clearing activity, but that's fine. That can wait. 

We have been warned that a trump indictment will lead to his supporters rotting in the street. Sounds good to me. I could put up with the stink for a spectacle like that. 

Real Rain At Last

 It poured down yesterday afternoon. And it cooled off a lot. This might be a wet week. I can go for that. Mosquitos will be bad now. Maybe I can get West Nile, and see what that's like. That rain came in the "nick of time". 

This is a good way to finish August.

It Will Be Hot Today

 But things change tomorrow. Lots of important work accomplished yesterday!

Next week might be a good one. I sure hope so. 

Could There Be Anything Dumber?

 I'm talking about another manned moon mission. Total waste of money. Manned spaceflight is stupid. Maybe a larger follow-on to the Hubble telescope would require servicing missions, and that would be reasonable. Space X still looks like a big con to me. Billionaire infantilism. 

It won't be long before I'll have nothing but sunflowers to show. 

It Is Yet Another Mild Morning

 The heat wave is dead here, but you know how that goes. But for the next week, at least, mild conditions prevail and rain chances will be with us. Yet more work of clearing accomplished yesterday. Progress is being made and the jungle is being tamed. 

I've been reading up on linear algebra and vector spaces so that I can better understand quantum mechanics, but I've decided that's a stupid thing for me to do at my age-- I'm not going to DO anything with it. I don't NEED to do that. Relax! Take it EASY! I'm old, I'm retired, and that's the end of it.
