Stunning Weather

Sunny and pleasantly warm but maybe today we will get the high winds that have been forecast for almost an entire week without materializing. Hold onto your hats. The wind blows forward and the wind blows back. I have turned my backyard into something very much like a meadow. Natural is as natural does.

A norther is due-- sometime or other. It might be cool tomorrow, like maybe 70 F for the high, and stronger wind. Maybe. Unreliable forecasts have become quite common around here. Dust? Maybe. It IS that time of year...

Yet Another Nice Day!

Warm, sunny, and not a lot of wind. I will do some work outside again, for sure. Great day for it.

When I pick up the phone and hear a "boink" I hang up right away and block the number. That little sound is a dead give away, that you've gotten a telemarketer-- some kind of junk call from a boiler room operation. Same story if the caller ID indicates a state, like Kentucky. Hang up and block the number. Nowadays if I get any call and the caller ID does not indicate a local area code, I don't even answer, even if there is some name associated with the caller. If I don't know who it is, I don't answer. And the number gets blocked.

Now For A Warming Trend

I can't complain very much about the weather, as nothing extreme is going on, and it didn't get as cold as forecast. It should be a pretty nice weekend. Avian flu in this state is beginning to look somewhat ominous. Will Texas be the epicenter for a new pandemic? I hope not. But we must wait and see. There WILL be a new pandemic but who knows when? And where the outbreak will take place?

A Little Norther

We are not yet done with northers. But I think we are in the clear as far as freezes go. That's good because I would not like to see vegetation damaged, now that everything outside is turning green. Green is good.

We actually got a bit of rain yesterday afternoon, and it was just enough to free me from the need to water today.

Super Fine Morning!

No wind, high humidity, cloudy, very mild temps. Morning coffee on the patio felt great. I spend more and more time outside. This weekend I'll probably go shopping for plants. Get some stuff in the ground and hope it all survives the inevitable beatings. Frankly, the things that thrive in our climate are all invasive weeds!
